Casting

I have desperately been trying to get out of the house, and get active with my children.  I was given some great advice from my support team.  I should try to find a mommy group! Yeah, a mommy group.  It freaks me out a bit, I have never been one to seek out woman to hang around with.  I always figured they would be drawn to me.  A little arrogant I know, but its not meant to be….really.  Since I was in 1st grade my report cards have always said the same things…besides S or S-, they included comments like: “Katie has a way of drawing people to her.” – “Socializing interferes with learning.” – “Katie needs someone to sit with her to accomplish tasks.”  – This last one to me is just another way of saying, Katie works well in groups. Ha hahaha, I have to stop kidding myself, I hate being alone, but I haven’t really discovered a way to go out and make friends with people.  I admit I have been a little prejudice of “Mommy Groups.”  I am now realizing that I didn’t…uh don’t feel like I am the same “Caliber” of woman that the rest of these Super Moms are.  I used to put on makeup and get dressed everyday for work, and I enjoyed my routine…now I can’t wait to jump into a freshly washed pair of what my family calls sleepy time pants, and an ultra soft t-shirt. The problem is, is that I don’t get out of them.  This leads to its own set of issues, like who wants to leave the house when your just so comfy, and the husband gets sick of seeing them on you when he comes home from a hard days work.  I could go on and on, but will spare you.  The bottom line is its easier to be lazy. But, apparently everyday people get up brush there teethe and get dressed, maybe even take a shower.  They may not even have anywhere to go!   It is a new concept for me, STAYING HOME DOES NOT MEAN YOU GET TO STAY IN YOUR “PUCHAMAS” ALL DAY?  So my goal for this week is to get up and get myself ready for the day. Makeup! Clothes! Do my hair! Sleepy Time Pants are for Sleepy time only!  I figure it can only help me to be motivated to get out of the house, as well as boost my own self image.  I need that.

I am also vowing to join a group with my kids, I need friends around here and so do my monsters.  I promise not to make any excuses and just do it.   I know there are woman just like me, but if I know them well enough, they won’t come to me.  I have to find them!  Let the search begin!

EXTRACT- Sweatpants scene I know this trick well!

Hello world!

Greetings! My name is Katie. I am 30 years old, and I am the stay at home mother of 2 incredible kids. Kendall is my 3 year old daughter. She is head strong, independant and highly inquisitive.  Cody is my 8 month old son, who just wants to smile at the world as it passes him bye, and for the world to smile back at him.  They get a long great, accept for the occasional bouts of jealousy from Kendall. I suppose its normal.   My husband works very long hours as an Oil Man on a drilling rig here in Bakersfield, Ca….often referred to as the armpit of California.  But it doesn’t stink! I was offered this opporotunity to Blog along side my older and wiser sister Jen, who has had great reviews on her blog “Yes I Said Minnesota,” and has been featured on Word Press. So, needless to say I had to do it.  I love her and respect her opinions.

I am here for many reasons actually, and I will try to blog as often as I can about the following topics:

Life as a Stay at Home Mom

Loosing Weight (If anyone needs some I have a lot to give)

Life Changing Events

AND WHATEVER ELSE I FEEL LIKE WRITING ABOUT.  THIS IS MY OUTLET. I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY IT, AND HAVE COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, AND SUGGESTIONS…
